Who is Eligible?
Only Bright Sparks Students who have been supported by us at secondary school are eligible. The reason for this is that we prioritize our available funds to ensure that all of the students that we support at secondary school can be supported at university, subject to meeting our criteria. We do not cap the number of students that we support at university and this is possible due to our focus on those students that we have been supporting since secondary school.
Bright Sparks University Book Prizes Support Scholarships are for students doing their first higher education undergraduate degree. Students who do on to study for second post graduate degrees, masters, and doctorates are not eligible for continued support. Bright Sparks Trust is a small voluntary not for profit organisation and we design our policies to maximize the number of students we can support throughout secondary and tertiary education.
The focus of Bright Sparks Trust is to support very bright students from very vulnerable backgrounds. This is why we focus our support on students that have gained a place to study at the most prestigious public universities and why we do not support students who fail exams and need to repeat a study year. Ongoing high performance is a requirement for continued support and this is designed to motivate our scholars to apply themselves to realize their fullest potential.
